Terms of Service for Pet Care

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Pet Care app (package com.toponedev.petcare), published by Toponedev ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. The service

Pet Care helps you track pets, care tasks, reminders, and health and expense records. Most features work entirely on your device without an account. An optional paid Family Sharing feature lets you sync selected pets with caregivers you invite.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to create an account.
Signing in is optional and uses Google Sign-In. You are responsible for keeping access to your Google account secure.
You are responsible for the information you enter and for the people you invite to your family.

3. Subscriptions and billing

Creating a family and sharing pets is a paid feature. Joining a family with an invite is free.
Subscriptions are sold and processed through Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your payment details.
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions. Cancellation stops future renewals; it does not retroactively refund the current period. After a subscription ends, your shared family is eventually dissolved; see section 5.
Refunds are handled according to Google Play's refund policy.
Deleting your app account does not cancel a Google Play subscription. Cancel it separately in Google Play.

4. Your content

You own the pet information you create. You grant us only the limited permission needed to store and sync that information so the app can function, for example, to mirror a shared pet's records to the caregivers you invite. We do not use your content for advertising and do not sell it. For full details on how we handle your information, see our Privacy Policy.

5. Family Sharing

The family owner (the person who created the family) controls what is shared and who can join.
Data you share becomes visible to the caregivers you invite. Only share what you are comfortable sharing with them.
If the owner deletes their account, the family is dissolved and its shared data is removed for all members. If an invited caregiver deletes their account, they are removed from the family.
If the subscription ends, the family is dissolved after 30 days. The 30 days begin when Google Play reports the subscription expired, not when you cancel. The app shows the remaining days to the owner and to every caregiver throughout. Resubscribing at any point in that window cancels the dissolution. When it happens, the shared cloud copy is permanently deleted; the owner's own pets and records remain on the owner's device and stay exportable. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use the app for any unlawful purpose or to store unlawful content.
Attempt to breach, probe, or circumvent the app's security, backend, or access controls.
Reverse engineer or interfere with the service except where permitted by law.
Use the app to access data of families you have not been invited to.

7. Important: Not veterinary advice

Pet Care is a personal organisation and reminder tool. It is not a source of veterinary or medical advice and is not a substitute for professional care. Always consult a qualified veterinarian about your pet's health and treatment.

Reminders and alarms are provided on a best-effort basis and depend on your device (battery settings, permissions, being switched on, and manufacturer power management can delay or prevent a notification). Do not rely solely on the app for critical, time-sensitive medication or health tasks. You are responsible for your pet's care.

8. Availability

We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Sync features depend on Google Firebase and network connectivity, which are outside our control.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of or inability to use the app, including any missed reminder or any harm to a pet. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

10. Termination

You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time (see the Account & Data Deletion page). We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms or misuse the service.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
